Affiliate Terms & Guidelines

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. This page explains how the Aquila Watercolor Affiliate Program works, including commission structure, discount code policies, and how we can collaborate to share beautiful custom pet portraits with your community. Please read through the details below — joining the program means you agree to these terms. ❤️

Complimentary Affiliate Portrait

As part of the Aquila Watercolor Affiliate Program, approved affiliates are eligible to receive one (1) complimentary custom watercolor pet portrait, provided there is good-faith participation in the program.

  • The complimentary portrait is limited to one subject (one pet).

  • The inclusion of props, accessories, or complex backgrounds is at the artist’s discretion.

Artwork Ownership & Usage Rights

All original artwork created by Aquila Watercolor remains the intellectual property of Aquila Watercolor.

Aquila Watercolor retains the right to:

  • Create reproductions of the artwork for resale

  • Use images and video of the artwork for marketing, promotional, and instructional purposes, including YouTube videos, social media, website content, and educational materials

Affiliates and clients may display and share the artwork on personal platforms — including for affiliate promotion — provided the artwork itself is not reproduced, licensed, or resold independently of Aquila Watercolor.

Artwork reproductions made by the client using provided digital files or by any other means are for personal use only and may not be resold, licensed, or used for independent commercial purposes without written permission.

Reference Photos

By submitting reference photo(s), you grant Aquila Watercolor permission to use those images for marketing and instructional purposes, including sharing reference photos within YouTube instructional videos.

Reference photos will never be sold or reproduced for resale.

Commission & Payment

You’ll earn a 15% commission on each completed order that uses your affiliate coupon code or referral link.

Commissions are calculated on the discounted price, after any coupon codes are applied, and exclude taxes and shipping.

If an order is refunded or canceled, the related commission will be reversed or deducted from future payouts.

Payouts are made monthly via PayPal or Venmo, typically within the first 10 days of the following month.

A minimum balance of $50 is required for payout. If your balance is below this amount, it will carry over to the next payout period.

Discount Code Policy

Each affiliate receives a unique 50% discount code to share with their followers.

This code should only be shared with your own community — not in coupon directories, paid ads, or discount sites.

Coupon code tracking is the primary way sales are attributed, so it’s important that the code remains exclusive to your audience.

Please do not use your own code to place personal orders (commissions aren’t paid on self-referrals).

Affiliate Responsibilities

Affiliates are expected to share their finished portrait and unique code with their audience within 30 days of receiving their portrait, unless otherwise agreed.

As an affiliate, you agree that if you are satisfied with your experience working with Jess and with the final artwork, you will create and share content featuring your custom pet portrait. Satisfaction is subjective, and this expectation is based on good-faith participation.

This may include:

  • Posts, stories, reels, or videos on your social platforms

  • Mentions or features shared with your email subscribers

All promotions must follow FTC guidelines, which means clearly disclosing your affiliate relationship (for example: “I may earn a commission if you order through my link or code.”)

Please represent my artwork and offers honestly and accurately. My portraits are handcrafted and made with care, and I want that to shine through in how you share.

Prohibited Activities

To keep things fair and respectful for everyone involved, the following are not allowed:

  • Using your own affiliate link or coupon code to earn commissions on personal purchases

  • Running paid ads using my brand name, likeness, or your affiliate code without permission

  • Distributing your code on coupon aggregation sites, forums, or spam channels

  • Any fraudulent activity, manipulation of tracking, or misleading promotions

Violating these rules may result in removal from the program and forfeiture of unpaid commissions.

Termination

This program is meant to be collaborative and fun. That said, I reserve the right to remove affiliates from the program at my discretion — including if terms are violated or if there’s no activity after receiving a complimentary portrait.

Affiliates may also leave the program at any time by reaching out.
